Vickey Nexsen Boyd is a native of South Carolina. Vickey moved to Mt.Pleasant four years ago to serve as publisher of The Moultrie News, a weekly
newspaper serving East Cooper, and The Journal, a weeekly newspaper serving James Island and Folly Beach.

Vickey was the first woman President of the
Rotary Club of Kingstree and the third woman President of the South Carolina Press Association. She is married to Crane and has two daughters, Laura and Taylor.
