“I am not in the position to give an organization an impact gift, but I know that my donation to Women Making a Difference will be pooled with others' donations and result in the type of gift that significantly aids an organization.”

Kenton has made a career working in the not-for-profit development field. As Director of Development for the Gibbes Museum of Art, she spearheads efforts to increase public support of the institution and develops partnerships that strengthen the organization’s roles as a regional American art museum and as Charleston’s only fine art museum.

Prior to joining the museum staff in 2002, Kenton served as Development Associate and Interim Director of Development for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Central Texas Chapter in Austin, Texas and as Executive Director of the University of Virginia Club of New York City in Manhattan.

She currently volunteers for Theatre 99 and serves on the boards of Women Making a Difference and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Lowcountry Chapter.

Kenton is a graduate of Porter-Gaud School and holds a B.A. in American Politics from the University of Virginia. She and her husband George live on James Island with their puppy Mary-Louise Barker.
